Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper or more, to taste

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, combine all the ingredients and whisk until well combined.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it has thickened to your desired consistency.
  • Remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
  • Transfer the sauce to a jar or container and store it in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Notes

This sauce will keep for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
If you like a milder sauce, reduce the amount of cayenne pepper or hot sauce.
If you like a smokier flavor, you can use smoked salt or add more smoked paprika to taste.
The sauce can be used as a marinade or a dipping sauce for grilled meats and vegetables.
